Message from the Chairman

Dear Wine Club Members and Alumni Members,

This year we hosted two full house Wine Tastings and one likewise Wine Dinner, thanks to the support of our members and friends.  We also launched two wine subscriptions; both of them were sold out.  And the AA Bar continued to supply good value wines, most with scores of RP90 and more.  Now, let’s look at our plan for the coming year 2014.

Firstly, we find it necessary to adjust our annual membership fee to $160 due to increase of wine prices and other costs.  In the past year we tried very hard to break even because the Committee is adamant that only good wines with high scores were to be served in tastings and wine dinners.  So I hope you would all understand our rational.  And for being a club member you shall receive the following benefits:

1.      Free admission to Wine Tastings, at least twice a year

2.      Privilege of wine subscriptions, at least three kinds of wine a year

3.      5% discount for members attending Wine Dinners

4.      Receive circulation of wine information

We plan to have two wine dinners next year with good score French wines in the first quarter and fourth quarter.  The first one is likely to be a collection of RP95+ Southern Rhone wines.  Watch out for the notice.

Some new wines have been purchased for the bar and we will inform the details very soon.  There will be an addition of a good French house wine (less than $200!) to the wine list. Remember to try it next time you come.
