2010 HKU Alumni Association Golf Tournament

The Golf Interest Group of HKUAA is pleased to launch the 2010 HKUAA Golf Tournament (“the Tournament”) consists of 4 events to be held from March to September in 2010. Players can earn points in each of the 4 event they play. After the final event, the players with most accumulated points based on gross/ net score will be the Gross/ Net Champion of the Tournament respectively and entitled to keep the corresponding trophy for 1 year:

         Gross Champion (determined by accumulated points based on gross score)

         Net Champion, 1st & 2nd Runners-up (determined by accumulated points based on net score)

New New Peoria Scoring System will be adopted to calculate net scores in all 4 tournaments

 

4 Golf Events of the Tournament:

The tentative schedule of the 4 golf events in 2010 is as follow:

  1. Spring Challenge (March 2010)
  2. Challenge Cup (May 2010)
  3. Summer Challenge (July 2010)
  4. Intervarsity Golf Competition Qualifying Round (September 2010)

In each of the above golf event, there will be prizes/ trophies for gross champion, net champion and runners up, longest drive and nearest to the Pin… etc. Detailed information will be announced later.

 

Point Scoring System:

Players will earn points according to their final position in each golf event.  The gross/ net champion will earn about 100 – 180 points depending on which event it is. The gross score and net score adopts the same point scoring system as follows:

In case two/ more than two players have the same accumulated points based on gross (net) score after the final event, the player with the most points earned in the Intervarsity Golf Competition Qualifying Round will be the Gross (Net) Champion of the Tournament.

If the same player wins the gross and net champion of the Tournament, he/ she will only be awarded the gross champion.
