Summary
We are honoured to invite Mr. Chris Hall to lead an exclusive guided tour of the new exhibition, “A History of China in Silk: The Chris Hall Collection,” at the Hong Kong Palace Museum. This landmark exhibition, opened in celebration of National Day 2025, presents an unparalleled survey of Chinese textiles from antiquity to modernity, drawing from one of the finest private collections in the world. As China opened up and pieces reached Hong Kong and the international market, Mr. Hall was uniquely placed to assemble a collection that spans court robes, rank badges, tapestry and embroidered panels, religious and ritual textiles, furnishings and carpets, purses and accessories, and more—covering periods from early historical eras to the present day. Many highlights from his collection have been featured by leading institutions across the region. This guided visit offers rare first-hand insights from the collector on design, technique, symbolism, provenance, and connoisseurship.

All HKUAA members are warmly welcome to bring family and friends.
