Dear alumni member,
Have you ever dreamed of stepping into the spotlight and sharing your love of music with an audience that truly appreciates it? The HKUAA Choir is calling on all alumni who carry a song in their heart to join us for an unforgettable summer. This is a celebration of talent, friendship, and the creative spirit that connects our HKU community across generations.
The HKUAA Choir is delighted to announce the opening of recruitment for our Summer 2026 Season. We warmly invite all HKU alumni members to be part of this exciting programme of rehearsals, camaraderie, and live performance.
Each member will be offered the chance to perform as a soloist or in an ensemble of their own choosing, presenting a musical piece of their own selection for approximately four minutes on stage. The choice of repertoire from musicals is entirely yours.
Dr. Lesley Chan, our choir’s voluntary music director, will be coaching the full choir on three designated songs: Mama Mia, Phantom of Opera medley, and Wizard of Oz. All participants are required to attend rehearsals for these three songs. Ms. Florence Ng, our voluntary assistant music director, will be the accompanist. In the event that Dr. Chan and Ms. Ng are unable to attend rehearsals, Mr. Wallace Ng and Mr. Angus Lau will stand in as conductor and accompanist.
