Summary:

HKUAA Green and Culture Group is honoured to invite Dr. Kwong Chi Man, co-author of Eastern Fortress A Military History of Hong Kong, 1840–1970, which is the Hong Kong Book Prize 2019, to illustrate the battle of Hong Kong in 1941 with his interactive map. Dr. Kwong is an associate professor specializing in the military and naval history of modern East Asia, particularly from the Sino-Japanese War (1894–95) to the 1970s.

This spatial history map, Hong Kong 1941, is a well-known new project that illustrates the whole war in more interactive and real ways to under troops and various parties. The speaker will use the interactive map to narrate the Battle of Hong Kong of 1941 and briefly introduces the background and technical aspects of the project. It will be a Zoom talk that you can attend the talk anywhere to listen to Dr. Kwong and watch the presentation and map.

Welcome all HKU alumni and students to bring your family and friends to join.
