Apply Now for a HKUAA Membership + VISA Card
- Enjoy 5% discount on F&B at the HKUAA Club House and other privileges -
If you haven't responded to our letter sent earlier, we hope you will do so soon. For your additional information, the HKUAA Platinum VISA Card offers permanent annual fee waiver and 8 Bonus Points = 1 Asia Mile reward at no mileage conversion fee. You may wish to take advantage of these and other exclusive benefits offered by the Bank of East Asia (BEA).
To recapitulate, your Alumni Association has collaborated with the BEA to introduce a special dual-purpose membership card + credit card for all its members. The existing membership card* will be replaced by the new HKUAA VISA card. We encourage you to make your application as soon as possible.
Once approved, you will enjoy perpetual annual fee waiver as well as 5% discount on F&B (food and beverage) consumed at the HKUAA Club House (except for Life and Associate Life members, please refer to the following details). There are numerous other exclusive privileges too, including use of selected HKU facilities, Bonus Point rewards on expenditure on the card, and BEA year-round offers on its 350 dining merchants network.
The new membership + credit card is available either as a HKUAA VISA Gold Card or a HKUAA VISA Platinum Card. Its card face is decorated with a line drawing of the Loke Yew Hall, and apart from a credit card number, it will also be embossed with your HKUAA membership number* *.
The HKUAA VISA Card is now open for application by our Ordinary, Associate, Life and Associate Life members. Subscribing and Student members should also submit their application. Subscribing members will be issued a BEA VISA Gold Card or Platinum Card and Student members a HKU Student VISA Card, both embossed with "HKUAA" and the HKUAA membership number. Life members and Associate Life members have enjoyed and will continue to enjoy 10% discount on F&B consumed at the HKUAA Club House. However, with the new HKUAA VISA card, they can apply a Supplementary card for their spouse who will also enjoy the 10% discount on F&B spending at the Club House. The Supplementary card is a BEA VISA card embossed with "HKUAA" and the Principal card's HKUAA membership number.
The spouse of Ordinary, Associate and Subscribing members can apply for a Supplementary card too, which is a BEA VISA card embossed with "HKUAA" and the Principal card𠏋 HKUAA membership number. They will enjoy the 5% discount on F&B at the HKUAA Club House. However, Student members will not be issued a Supplementary card.
For members (including Student members) who are holding a HKU BEA VISA card now, it is important to note that you are required to file the same application form for conversion to the new HKUAA VISA card to enjoy the above-mentioned benefits.
Overseas HKUAA members can apply for the HKUAA VISA card with a Hong Kong-based home address. Otherwise they can use the HKUAA facilities and enjoy the 5% discount on F&B upon presentation of their passport and existing membership card.
