2. Competition Format & Prizes
Competition format:
Intervarsity Game:
· Match Play (Four-Ball Better-Ball)
(The university with highest scores after day 1 & day 2 team matches will be the Champion. Each team match comprises of 2 players from each university.)
· Scoring System:
Ø Day 1 and Day 2: Same score weighting for both days.
Ø 1 point for front 9 holes, 1 point for back 9 holes and 1 point for overall 18 holes (max. 3 points per team).
Ø Counting of 9 holes under “shotgun” starting of the golf event: Front 9 holes should be counted subsequently from the “tee-off” hole for each team. E.g., if a team tees off at hole 3, the front 9 holes of the team will be hole 3 – 11 and carry 1 point.
· Blue / White / Red Tee:
Ø All intervarsity game players participating team matches are divided into Division A, B and C according to handicap index.
Ø Male players in Division A should play Blue Tee while female players play White Tee.
Ø Male and female players in Division B & C play White Tee and Red Tee respectively.
RE: There should be “1 teeing ground difference” between men and ladies in the same division (e.g. if white and red tees are in the same teeing ground, men should move to blue tee accordingly.
Divisional Team Champion (Day 1 & Day 2)
· For each division (A, B & C), the team (2 intervarsity game players from HKU/ CUHK) with the lowest gross score will be the champion.
Longest Drive and Nearest to the Pin (Day 1 & Day 2)
· All players from CUHK and HKU are eligible.

3. Golf Package: $2950
Ø Round Trip transportation between Huanggang and Golf Club.
Ø 1 night accommodation at Golf Club.Single room supplement at HK$200 extra.
Ø 2 X 18 green fee, caddie fee, locker, shared cart (for Mountain Course only).
Ø 1 Breakfast + 2 Lunch + 1 Dinner

Ø A basket of driving range ball per day
4. Rules & Regulations
(a) Play the ball as it lies. Play the course as you find it. And if you can’t do either, do what is fair. But to do what is fair, you need to know the Rules of Golf. Governing Rules: R & A and Local Rules where applicable.
(b) If you hit your ball OB, there is a one-stroke penalty, and you must hit another ball. If you are not sure if the ball is OB, hit a "Provisional Ball" just in case. You should use drop zone if so provided.
(c) In order to speed up the time, we will accept metal length of a standard putter as “give” by adding one stroke.
(d) Slow play is to be avoided at all times. A team can concede a hole at any time prior to the conclusion of the hole. After the concession, both teams should proceed to the next hole.
(e) All timely lodged disputes shall be dealt with by the Arbitration Committee formed by CUHK and HKU organizing committees whose decisions shall be final.
Members who wish to participate in competition can sign up by completing the reply slip. Confirmation of entry will be given on first-come-first-served basis (after payment is made). More detail information will be circulated upon confirmation. The entry close date is Saturday, 24thSeptember 2011. We look forward to seeing you in our annual event.
